Celebrating the Start of a New Partnership

Sep 20, 2013
Last week, REIC and the Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB) celebrated the beginning of a new partnership. OMDREB is providing REIC advanced education courses leading to the Fellow of Real Estate Institute (FRI) designation to its over 1100 members. See the official announcement under What's New on the REIC website.

There is much to celebrate with this initiative. OMDREB and REIC are both focused on advancing the professional status of our respective members and raising the bar in industry best practices. In a couple of week’s time, OMDREB members will be attending the REIC Ethics and Business Practice course in OMDREB’s new classroom facility. We know that this course will be the first of many to come and we hope to welcome a number of new OMDREB FRI’s in the not too distant future!

We are anticipating that this partnership will be the basis of similar arrangements with other real estate boards across Ontario and in time, across the country. Inquiries are already starting to come in.

Building partnerships is important to REIC and aligns with our new Strategic Plan and direction. Our goal is to reach out to other organizations and employers across the country to promote, not only our programs and courses, but our designated members who are committed and dedicated to maintaing high industry standards and best practices.

Our Strategic Plan also includes reviewing our progress and making any adjustments to the plan as required. Next week, the REIC National Board is meeting in Ottawa for a review session. I look forward to providing an update on this session in my next blog.

Until then, I encourage everyone to continue networking and promoting your hard earned designations. Wear your designation pin and display your designation logo in your online and social media profiles. REIC is trending!
